Teacher Education Conference Andalucia, 20-21 May

On 20 and 21 May 2009, the Teacher Education Department in the Andalucia Regional Ministry of Education (Spain) organizes a Regional Conference for their Teacher Training Network (500 trainers and heads of our Teacher Training Centers), focused on teacher education: in-service training, quality education, European goals and challenges, to be held in Cadiz at the end of May 2009.
Contributions from various European authorities, Institutions and experts in the field are encouraged. Experts who are interested to contribute to this conference either as a speaker, or as a part of an international panel focused on European perspectives related to in-service teacher training and education, are invited to contact the conference organizers.
The organizing committee is interested in an overall introduction to the priority issues in their region and/or country, which concepts they mainly apply in regards to training and education, quality education and quality teaching, teaching competence and qualifications. Confirmation have already been received from France, Germany, Holland and European Commissioner Mr. Paul Holdsworth, and are still expected from various other countries and stakeholder organizations.

As for practicalities regarding traveling and accomodation, the organizing committee will take care of everything. Simultaneous interpretation to and from English will be provided during the whole conference.
