Conferences and Seminars

The ATEE organizes annual conferences, hosted by teacher education institutions throughout Europe.

First of all there is the Annual conference, which takes place at the end of August. This five-days conference is a meeting place and platform for teacher educators and researches from all over the world.
The annual conference combines inspiring keynotes, a wide variety of papers on research and practice of teacher education, active working sessions of the Research and Development Centers and last but not least, a open, friendly, informal and lively atmosphere
The Universities in the Baltic States organize each year a Spring Conference. This two-day conference create a lifely platform for exchange of research and practice. attracting mainly teacher educators from the nothern part of Europe.

ATEE Spring University 2010

The ATEE SPRING UNIVERSITY 2010 will be held from 7 to 8 May 2010 in Riga, Latvia.

Theme of the conference is

Teacher of the 21st Century: Quality Education for Quality Teaching

The conference will be hosted by the University of Latvia.

From 26 to 30 August 2010, Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest and Eszterházy Károly College of Eger, in co-operation with the Association of Hungarian Teacher Education, will host the 35th ATEE Annual Conference in Budapest.

Theme of the conference is:

Responsibility, Challenge and Support in Teachers' Life-long Professional Development.

ATEE Winter Conference 2010: Early Years, Primary Education and ICT

From 26 to 28 February 2010 the Charles University will host the second ATEE Winter conference.

The conference focusses on the theme of Early Years and Primary Education and ICT.

First class learning, first class teaching, first class teacher education:
the primacy of Early Years, Primary Education and ICT for the future of Europe

This Winter conference is a joined effort of the RDC Primary and Early Years Teacher Education and the RDC ICT in Teacher Education.

34th ATEE conference 2009

34th Annual Conference of the
Association for Teacher Education in Europe
Knowledge Creativity in Teacher Education
Education for Knowledge Creation

From August 29th to September 2nd, 2009, the 34th ATEE took place in Palma de Mallorca.

The conference brought together more than 400 teacher educators from more than 40 countries within and outside Europe.

The conference was integrated with a meeting of the Summer Institute of the University of Toronto. This created the opportunity to bring together two knowledge networks for exchange and new friendships.

Winter Conference 2009: In-service Learning throughout the Stages of Teachers' Careers

From 6 to 8 February 2009 ATEE's first Winter Conference was held at Lake Garda in Italy.

Theme of the conference was

In-service Learning throughout the Stages of Teachers' Careers.

The ATEE Winter University has the purpose of discussing and deepening the issues studied by the Research and Development Centres (RDC) of the Association. Year in, year out the RDCs may widen their research by means of specific conferences open to European and Non-European experts.

33th Annual ATEE Conference 2008 Brussel

From 23 to 27 August the Free University of Brussels hosted the 33th ATEE Annual Conference.
