World Federation of Associations for Teacher Education First Bi-annual Conference

It is the mission of the World Federation of Associations of Teacher Education to build a global community of teacher educators and to promote trans-national collaboration, support, and research and development in teacher education. Within WFATE teacher education assocaitions in Europe (ATEE), the United States (ATE), Australia (ATEA) and initiatives for a teacher education association in Africa work together.
On 12 and 13 February 2010 the first WFATE bin-annual conference will be held in Chicago (just before the ATE National Conference from 14 to 17 Febraury). Theme of the conference is 'Teacher Education in a Global Context: Challenges and Opportunities'.
The conference strands include Preservice education, Continuing professional development, ICT and teacher education, Mobility of staff and students, The role of teacher education in education for all, Balancing local and global issues: knowledges, curriculum, professional experiences, and Other global issues in teacher education.
The deadline for submitting papers is 15 September 2009.
